New Series Roundup: Penny Dreadful, Killer Women, and Gotham

There are so many new series, that I like and would like to write about here but I just don´t have time to write about every series.
So, first up, I just watched the first episode of Penny Dreadful which happens to star Bille Pipper (who was Rose in Doctor Who) but unfortunately you don´t see her in the first episode. I like it but its not exactly my favorite thing in the world. So far it seem´s like a very confused mix of many different horror aspects, such as Frankenstein, Vampires, Jack the Ripper and ancient Egypt? I know, it sounds crazy but lets take a step back and I´ll tell you a bit about the general plot. A gunslinger named Ethan Chandler ends up fighting supernatural threats in Victorian London after being hired for his ability´s with weapons by a woman who basically reminds me of a supernatural version of Sherlock.

And then there is Killer Woman which for me was cheesy with extra cheese I mean I almost didn´t add it but well, if you guys like it, I'm wiling to give it a second chance. Its about a lone female Texas ranger who searches for a female killer while dealing with sexist male cops. If there´s nothing I dislike more in a series it´s when you know exactly what will happen but enough of that. The main attraction of this series is hot chicks so I guess the story took a backseat to that.

Then there´s Gotham which I´ll be honest when I first saw it I really thought that it could be good but for those who don´t know Gotham is a series about James Gordon when he first comes to Gotham to be a cop and the problems of being an honest cop amidst blatant corruption. This series completely ignores the comics and goes it´s own route but I was willing to overlook that when I first watched it but now the series just seems a bit slow and at times annoying.

So which do you like the most? Do you agree with me? Do you disagree? Let me know and leave a comment.

American Horror Story Hotel *Spoilers

So, I am a super fan of American Horror Story and of course I am a mega fan of Lady Gaga so, I think I will love this new season just as much. What do you think? Do you love it?

Commentary

So, when I first started watching the series the two foreign women walk into the hotel and the carpet reminded me of The Shining and then suddenly creepy kids yeah this so  paying homage to an amazing horror classic. And already like five minutes into these girl´s stay and I have to say I would be running out of the hotel way before the guy came out of the mattress. And about the intro I´m just gonna say this the kid in the gas mask so reminded me of Doctor who. And the fact that the girls are still in this creepy place astounds me but truly it does. And of course the kids are vampires this just makes everything better. And now an amazing detective on an insane case. And yay now a serial killer the American Horror Story writers sure do love their serial killers. I wonder if the vampire kids are messing with the detective? So, we've discovered the tool for the mysterious murder that the star detective couldn't figure out. So, room 64 is like a divide between realities I guess,of the living and the dead. This is getting interesting. Lady Gaga´s role was kinda short so far I thought there would be more of her but I have to say she makes an awesome vampire. And then at more than the half we get back to what happened to the two swedish women. Oh great a parents worse nightmare having your child disappear from sight. And Oh my gosh the kid of the detective is a vampire. And the detective leaves and goes to the hotel this is only going to get better.

Doctor Who: Dark Water Review °Spoilers

This episode is exactly what I´ve been waiting for, finally some decent writing. Plus there´s the added bonus that maybe just maybe Clara will be turned into a cyberman. Oh I hope she gets turned into a cyberman. And I´m going to just nose dive into the spoilers here so if you didn´t watch the episode don´t read more, and if you do don´t blame me because I warned you. Clara, is a total back stabbing evil little b!$ch. She could have cost the Doctor everything. Who else is happy that she is leaving the TARDIS. I guess the TARDIS was right in not liking her because hse knew that Clara would betray the Doctor.
And then we have finally Missy, but how I wonder did she manage to not get turned into a cyberman or deleted? Oh well. I really love that the Master is Missy so could this be a hint that soon we will have a female Doctor, but I hope it´s not too soon because I love Capaldi as the Doctor and I would like to see him pair up with a decent companion. I´m really excited about the season finally.

Doctor Who: In the Forest of the Night Review °Spoilers

So, like many episodes this season this episode was not anywhere near as good as the preview, I totally expected something diffrent. Something better but instead we ended up with another horrible episode. Featuring Clara and Danny Pink and guest staring the Doctor. I mean I get that the Doctor, for whatever reason needs companions but does he really need Clara? She lies even to the Doctor and yet somehow he doesn´t even talk to her about it? Really? I love Peter Capaldi as the Doctor but honestly I hope Clara gets shot by a dalek. So I guess that´s enough Clara hate for the moment, sorry, her character only drags the Doctor down but moving right along.
Anyone else see the little girl and instantly think of Amelia Pond? Or realize once again the fairy tale referance, Red Ridding Hood, her jacket was red, and she was chased in a moment by wolfs. But really why is the Doctor wearing a shirt with holes in it? And I´m sorry but I just don´t feel anything for Danny Pink, he´s just not used very much and is more like a pet that pops up everyonce in awhile, Anyone else feel the same?
And Im sorry but what the TARDIS is a TomTom now? When did the doctor add that brilliant bit of tech? And what class only has 10 kids?
And Danny worried about the Doctor taking care of Maven, really? Sorry, but moments like this I just want to slap him in the head, honestly. But, I do love when Maven one ups the Doctor. I want Maven for Companion! Who´s with me?
So, the class bully is taking selfies with the kids he terrorizes great because that makes total sense. And the flashback shows that not only is Clara a horrible person but she is a horrible teacher. I mean what teacher allows a student the time and ability to punch another?
Why are there a ton of kids in the TARDIS? I mean really, make yourself at home Clara. And Im sorry right I love Doctor Who and everything but the Doctor is basicaly encouraging people, mentally ill people not to take thier meds. Which can only lead to disaster.
¨If this is an invasion, thier here and they won¨ sorry but what the heck, this is so unlike the Doctor, giving up before even trying. What happened? And, Mave´s mom is the only one trying to find her kid? What happened to the other parents? ¨Class Project Save the Earth¨ is the best part of this episode. So what did you think?

Doctor Who: Flatline Thoughts and Review °Spoilers

So, I really liked this episode of Doctor Who, it´s honestly the first episode I´ve watched where I genuinly felt scared. It was scary, scary like crazy I mean two dimentional monsters who just attack every three dimentional object, even the TARDIS.
¨This is Annoying¨ pointing to all of Clara Lol. I think the writers are finally begining to get the idea, that Clara is not liked being paired with this Doctor.
The story starts off with the Doctor bringing Clara home well, kinda, because well as the Doctor has said before the TARDIS doesn´t like Clara. And instead of taking her back to London she ends in Bristol. But before they manage to get out of the TARDIS, Clara notices something strange, the door of the TARDIS is small and the Doctor sends Clara out to check on things as he tries to figure out whats going on with the TARDIS. But when she comes back the TARDIS has shrunk even more leaving the Doctor trapped in the TARDIS and Clara to more or less save the world with little if any help. And what does Clara do with this new found problem? Instead of being worried she comments about how cute a small TARDIS is, nevermind that the Doctor has no way of getting out at this point. And so the Doctor gives her his sonic and psychic paper and askes her to look around for him and then gives her an earpiece and hacks her optic nerve, which if you think abou it is kinda super cool. But Clara somehow manages to screw it by asking the Doctor what that ment, I mean really she´s a teacher and she doesn´t know what the optic nerve is.
But these she goes off with the Doctor in her purse ending up making her as if there was any guess before a Mary Poppins with a bag thats bigger on the inside. And then having her pick up a companion that you honestly thought the Doctor would at least have him on board for another episode but nope, he doesn´t even say thank you to Clara for helping him get his TARDIS back and basically saving his life but well, it is the 12th Doctor after all. Also I wonder why the Doctor is kinda lully gaging around the universe instead of looking for Gallifrey, or if there is some underlaying thing with that like he doesn´t want to go back because he´s afraid he will be judged.
But, you have to feel bad for the Doctor when he tells Clara that she made a perfect Doctor, because you can see so clearly, that he hates lying all the time, giving what he thinks is false hope, thats why I think there is such a drastic change in personality between the 11th doctor and the 12th. Despite everything he does he knows and hates the his first rule is to lie.
That being said the end speech given by Capaldi (the 12th Doctor) was as 9 would say, ¨Fantastic¨. So, what did you think about the episode? Did you love it? Hate it? Leave a comment and let me know.

Thoughts on GracePoint Season One Episode One °Spoilers

I really like the setting a small sleepy town, a new detective (played by the 10th doctor, David Tennant) and a crime he thought he would never have to face. Your heart just kinda breaks when he says ¨Don´t do this to me¨ as you see a small boy (Danny Solano) laying dead on a beach but then as if thats not enough the mother of the young boy comes busting through the crowd. All in all, so far it´s a great dramatic piece. which features not only David Tennant (Detective Emmett Carver) but Anna Gunn (Detective Ellie Miller) who is most known for her work in Breaking Bad as Skyler White. The mix of these two actors is both intense and compling.
At first Detective Emmett Carver thinks that Danny jumped off the cliff and commited suicide and it seems like the case has been closed but then with Detective Ellie Miller, he discovers that the cliff face showed no signs that someone had fallen off of it. And with that the two detectives go to inform the family. Carver being emotionally detached from the situation tell´s Milller to stay calm and aware but she can´t imagine anyone trying to hurt anyone else in her sleepy little town much less kill a child. But soon they find themselfs in the underbelly of his once peaceful and quiet town.
And when Detective Carver goes into Danny´s room for the first time you just get goosebumps as ghostly music plays and he grimmly puts on shoe covers and gloves and takes a look. And I´m sorry but you just want to reach out and give Detective Miller a giant hug as she walks Danny´s Dad, Mark Solano to identify his sons body, the heartbreak can almost be felt in the music alone. Mark Solano  (played by Michael Peña) gave a touching and heartbreaking speech where every word seemed to burst out of his stomach, saying with gifted difficulty that he would do everything to catch the killer.
And Im sorry right, but Owen Burk (played by Kevin Zegers), the reporter from the Gracepoint Journal, and cousin of Detective Miller is a downright jerk for tweeting about the death of Danny. And it is because of him that Dective Miller is now in the hot seat and all of this causes a wirlpool of chaos as a bigger newspaper takes the story and Renee Clemons (played by Jessica Lucus) who seems to know Detective Carver from before goes after the story with everything.
Joe Miller (played by Josh Hamilton) is super supportive of his wife Detective Miller and you know my heart broke when she told her son that his best friend died but then oddly enough her son starts deleting text messages, from a hidden phone and from off of his computer. So, it makes you wonder what the heck is going on.
So what do you think about his series guys?

Doctor Who- Mummy on the Orient Express Review ° Spoilers

Hi, guys and welcome back to my blog today I´m going to do a review of Mummy on the Orient Express and I have to say I was very impressed with this episode. When series 8 first started, I was very skeptical of how drastically they changed the Doctor but I´m starting to really like seeing Capaldi as the Doctor. Now here is where I´m going to put the warning, if you didn´t see the episode yet, don´t read any further because as River Song says, ¨Spoilers¨.

Im just gonna say this Capaldi saying ¨start the clock¨ in the beginning is super creepy, anyone agree? I didn´t say this before but I love 12´s intro. I honestly think that the intro´s just keep getting better and better. But can we talk for a minute about Capaldi´s costume for his episode, when I saw it I immediatly thought of the first Doctor, it´s kinda amazing. I kinda felt like that´s where they were going with his character and lo and behold thats exactly what they did.

Poor 12th doctor can´t handle the idea of Clara leaving, poor guy. But he did push her way too far in the last episode (to see my review of Kill the Moon go here). And I can´t belive that she, Clara thinks so little of the Doctor that he would really not care about people.

Also, soldiers also keep popping up in this season, first Danny and now the Mummy does anyone get a feeling that this is building up foreshadowing for the season finally?
